Questions we are asked most
What is the difference between an apostille and embassy attestation?
An apostille is a single certificate issued by the Ministry of External Affairs that makes an Indian document valid in any country that has joined the Hague Convention. For countries outside it, such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China and Vietnam, the MEA stamp is only the halfway point and the document must then be legalised at that country's embassy or consulate in India.
Can I get an apostille without state attestation first?
No. The MEA only apostilles a document that already carries an authentication from the issuing state: the education or HRD department for academic records, the home department or SDM for personal records, and a chamber of commerce for commercial documents. Sending a document straight to the MEA is the most common reason a file is returned.
Do you need my original documents?
For translation, a clear scan is enough. For attestation, apostille and embassy legalisation, the original has to be physically submitted, so it travels to us by courier and back to you the same way, insured and tracked.
How quickly can you work?
Translations are usually ready in two to four working days. State attestation adds roughly one to two weeks depending on the department, MEA apostille three to seven working days, and embassy legalisation anything from two days to several weeks depending on the mission. We give you a date with the quote.
Why do you not publish prices?
Because the same certificate can cost very differently depending on the language, the number of pages, whether a sworn translator is needed, which state issued it and which authority will receive it. A published rate would be wrong more often than right, so we quote each file individually and the quote is fixed.
Are my documents kept confidential?
Yes. Files are handled by named staff under confidentiality agreements, sent by encrypted email, never published, and deleted from our systems on request once your file is closed.
Ask for a quote
Prices depend on the document, the language pair and the destination authority, so we quote each file individually. Send us a scan and you will have a fixed price and a timeline, usually within one working day.
